On 07 March 2017, the International Law Club organised a symposium on “Amendments in the Constitution” as about 300 people attended the event including academicians, lawyers and students.
The event started with the opening speech by Ms. Prof.Dr.Ayşe Nuhoğlu, Dean of the Faculty of Law of our university, followed up by speeches of Prof. Dr.Sultan Tahmazoğlu Üzeltürk, Dean of the Faculty of Law of Yeditepe University and Assistant.Prof. Dr Didem Yılmaz, one of the academic staff of the University.
The second session opened with a speech by Prof Dr Sultan Tahmazoğlu Üzeltürk, who spoke about the historical process of the constitution since the foundation of the Republic of Turkey as well as the opinion of the public towards referendums. Other speakers of the second session were Adv. Mehmet Durakoğlu, President of the İstanbul Bar Association and Adv. Hasan Korkmazcan Parliamentary Deputy Speaker who spoke about separation of powers.
The final session included speeches from Adv. Aydeniz Alisbah Tuskan, board member of İstanbul Bar Association and Adv. Nazan Moroğlu as the session was about the amendments in the constitution from women’s perspective.
